The eight-strong Buntlack team is composed of active sprayers from Berlin and Munich who like hanging around in subway sidings. The exhibition #transitstories transports visitors to precisely this tunnel atmosphere. The smell of ballast stones and tracks is in the air. Under the city, in the tunnels of the local public transport system, there is a whole world which only a few people ever see. We want to bring this a little closer to our visitors.
The whole thing is augmented by large-format photo prints designed to strengthen the feeling.
The subway trains from different cities across the world have been reconstructed using Lego bricks on a scale of 1:25 and painted with miniature pictures. The trains have already been exhibited in Berlin, Amsterdam, Nuremberg, and in the Buchheim Museum near Munich.
Exhibiting artists: Acid 79 | Baks | Chill | Kort | Pley | Riko de Janeiro
The Buntlack Team
Buntlack, founded in 2009 by Riko de Janeiro, is a collective made up of different characters who have established a reputation through many years of work. They can draw on over 20 years of experience and are united by a love of graffiti.
The freely produced works, but also a diverse range of commissions, are mainly found in the Munich area. Everyone in the team expresses their own style – however they all share a passion for graphic art, installations, music, and fashion.
